Genshin Impact Leak Teases Upcoming Meta Character in Version 5.1

Geo is finally getting some well-deserved attention in Genshin Impact, with Version 5.1 set to introduce a new 5-Star Geo Support character poised to significantly influence the meta. Initially, Geo showed potential but has often been seen as underwhelming compared to other elements. Known for its inert nature, Geo has the fewest Elemental Reactions and relies solely on brute strength. This characteristic generally confines effective teams to a Mono Geo setup, apart from standout characters like Zhongli and Navia.

A prime example of a successful Mono Geo team features Itto, supported by characters like Albedo, Gorou, Chiori, or Zhongli. However, HoYoverse has been experimenting with Geo in innovative ways during the Fontaine era. Notably, they introduced Navia, a 5-Star Geo Claymore user who turns Crystallize shards into ammunition, enabling her to deal substantial bonus damage. Even Chiori, who fits well in Mono Geo teams, has shown synergy with Arlecchino in Zhongli-supported compositions.

Although specifics about the characters in Version 5.0 are limited, hxg_diluc has revealed exciting news for Version 5.1. This update will introduce a new 5-Star Geo character who is expected to be significant in the game's meta during the Natlan era. This tall female Geo Support character will have the ability to generate a shield. While her weapon type hasn't been disclosed, many Genshin Impact enthusiasts are hoping she will use a Catalyst.

Natlan Could Finally Bring Geo to the Meta in Genshin Impact

Geo as an element in Genshin Impact has seen some improvement with the introduction of Navia and Chiori, yet it still struggles to gain popularity in the meta. Besides lacking flashy team compositions, Geo remains the only element without a dedicated healer. Crystallize Shards have limited utility outside of Navia teams, and Constructs are easily destroyed by bosses and larger enemies. Although Navia has addressed some of the issues with Crystallize as an Elemental Reaction, a powerful Geo Support could significantly enhance the element's potential.

An official preview of Genshin Impact Version 5.0 is expected in July, with the patch set to launch in late August 2024. Natlan will introduce mounts to the game and is rumored to revamp older Cryo and Hydro characters like Shenhe, Ayato, and Mona. While it’s unexpected for a Geo character to dominate the meta, such a development would certainly be a refreshing change.
